Look At This Rock – A Rock Vlog with Adventure Built In
What began as an experiment soon became an adventure. At first, Jon Passow set out to see what would happen if he posted a new YouTube video every day for 30 days. Because of his long-standing passion for rockhounding, he chose rocks as his subject. He never expected the project to grow into a thriving community that remains active two years and 700 videos later on his channel, “Look At This Rock.”
Science, Curiosity, and Laughs
Each episode begins with one rock. Then, its hidden story is revealed. Volcanoes, trails, rare minerals, and strange formations from around the world are explored. However, the tone is kept fun, short, and fast-paced. Therefore, geology feels like an addictive vlog.
Famous and Historic Rocks Around the World
In addition, Jon travels to famous and historic rocks which are often featured in the videos. For example, Stonehenge and landmarks from ancient Rome are highlighted for global audiences. Additionally, iconic geological features around the world are explored and explained. As a result, rockhounding enthusiasts are given engaging educational content about world geology.
Why Viewers Keep Coming Back
New rock stories are released three times a week. Episodes are short, engaging, and tightly paced. Unexpected facts and close-up visuals are included. Consequently, even ordinary rocks feel extraordinary.
